We are located in East County, San Diego and offer our mobile art service to all communities in San Diego County. We have teachers in Imperial Beach & Fallbrook, and everywhere in between!

We travel to you to bring our mobile art studio to your home or place of business with no travel fee. Contact us to setup a party!

Kristel started ArtBeat in 2013. She wanted to provide an artistic outlet to adults and kids centered around the heart & soul, as she feels this is the birthplace of creative expression. Kristel's mission with ArtBeat is to offer instructional based artistic experiences with wiggle room for creativity. Kristel believes that having time to play, be creative, and explore is what makes people happy, regardless of their age. In her free time, Kristel is an avid kayaker, hiker, animal lover & adventurist. She loves to travel and has visited Thailand, Guatemala, Ecuador, England, France, Australia, and Africa.

Glenda is a dynamic art teacher that primarily focuses on ArtBeat kids events. A self taught artist, Glenda believes everyone has the ability to shine as an artist, given a bit of instruction and practice. Glenda finds joy in helping children express themselves through creative projects, while also offering easy to follow techniques to enhance their artistic ability. Glenda enjoys all things crafty! In addition to painting, Glenda spends her free time scrap booking, beading, and gardening. Glenda is the mother of ArtBeat teacher, Kristel Boe, and has taught Kristel everything she knows about patience, kindness and helping others.

​Bi-lingual/Spanish Speaking


Marisol is a self-taught artist who finds inspiration in the natural world. Many of her works include images of animals, nature, and the divine feminine. She mainly enjoys painting with acrylics, but loves to experiment in different mediums. An English teacher by trade, she has combined her love of art with her teaching skills. She believes that art is an outlet of individual expression & anyone can find the artist within. Before settling in San Diego about eight years ago, she lived in many different places including Chile, Italy, and Japan. Her passions include painting, crafting, hiking, camping, gardening, reading, traveling & playing with her dog and cat. ​

ArtBeat Teacher: Kids & Teen Events


San Diego native, Lashay Garnett has been an art lover her entire life. When she isn’t creating fun activities for her younger siblings, she is hiking with her dogs and loves being in nature. She is a licensed estetician & owner of Terra’s Oasis. Lashay is very knowledgeable in energy work, certified in Reiki Level 1 and is soon to be certified in Level 2.  Lashay is a patient, peaceful and fun art teacher for kids & teens!

Emily is a self taught artist who has been practicing different art forms since she was a kid. Her passion is drawing and painting animals and her main focus was horses for the longest time. Emily is always open to exploring new mediums but mainly focuses her attention in mediums like colored pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting. Emily has been teaching step by step painting classes on and off for the past 5 years and loves to bring her creative energy and passion to those who attend her classes. Her high energy and fun loving personality makes her art classes not only educational but super enjoyable. ​

Lisa is a passionate creative with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, dedicated to making art accessible and fun for all. She believes that art has the power to ignite community engagement and finds joy in inspiring others to explore their creativity with confidence and curiosity.
When she’s not teaching at ArtBeat, Lisa runs Copper Canvas (@copper.canvas). A devoted animal lover, Lisa creates unique painting experiences that celebrate pets through art.
Lisa weaves imagination, play, and creativity into every session, making each artistic journey a meaningful and enjoyable experience.

Katy Schoenknecht
Summer Camp Counselor & Teacher in Training

Katy is a San Diegan native and has always loved working with kids. Her experience with child care includes completing elementary school internships while enrolled at University City High School and years of babysitting. Katy loves art and fun little projects, and is excited to share her interest helping kids get creative and having fun. 
Katy's interests include time at the beach, playing sports, hiking, and enjoying nature. Beginning fall 2025, Katy will be a student at SDSU, and is looking forward to this new exciting chapter!

Summer Camp Counselor

For as long as she can remember, Ankim has grown up with art. From drawing on the walls with crayons to having art showcases for her schools, art has become a comfort for her. After meeting her current art teacher in high school, her love of art has grown into a desire of showing others the various fun and interesting ways art can be made and viewed. Ankim’s other interests include reading, crocheting, beaded jewelry making, and baking. She has one more year in University City High School, where she’ll be creating one last round of art to share for her
peers.

Born and raised in San Diego, Hazel has always been passionate about arts and crafts. She loves both sharing that passion with others and seeing all the wonderful things people create. She is so happy to help people discover their own personal creativity and have fun with it! She loves all kinds of jewelry making, clay, and drawing and painting with different mediums. Hazel is currently a student at University City High School and will be assisting at ArtBeat Summer Camps during our 2025 season.

Heather Birrcher 
ArtBeat Teacher, Camp Co-Teacher, classroom Teacher


After many years of art training, Heather earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at Savannah College of Art and Design. After school she enjoyed being an animal portrait artist. She has had the honor of hand painting on canvas over two hundred best furry friends in her colorful and bold style. Heather also traveled and sold her work in many juried art fairs around the country, including, the prestigious Affair in Gardens show in Beverly Hills and the local Mission Federal ArtWalk in Little Italy. Heather now lives in the La Mesa Village and adores being part of such a vibrant area. She also enjoys volunteering with the Lemon Avenue Elementary PTA as an Art Docent for her daughter’s class. Heather looks forward to participating in many more creative projects in her community.

Sybil Park
Art Enrichment Teacher


Art has been one of Sybil’s greatest passions for as long as she can remember. She enjoys
creating bright, expressionistic pieces using primarily acrylics and inspired by the places she
has traveled. She is a Southern California native and lives with her family of 5 in the city of La
Mesa. Before teaching art in the schools for over a year with ArtSmarts, Inc., she hosted her own backyard art camp (Backyard Palette) and has many years experience as a school psychologist. Sybil is very excited to also have the opportunity to work with Art Beat and
continue the important work of sharing Art with school age children in San Diego. Sybil’s other
interests include running an Airstream Airbnb on her property, gardening, cooking, Pilates,
Yoga, attending her daughter’s sporting events and spending time with family.
